Pulling LUNs from an HP-UX server

Removing LUNs from a server will cause NO_HW entries in ioscan output and may make EMS complain regularly about not being able to access something it had been able to access previously. There are two ways to clean this up.

  1. Reboot
  2. # shutdown -r now

  3. Manual cleanup
  4. # /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig

    Option “K” to stop monitoring

    # /sbin/init.d/diagnostic stop
    # rmsf -H <hardware path to missing LUN> -v

Repeat rmsf until all missing LUNs are removed

    # rm /var/stm/data/psm_data
    # /sbin/init.d/diagnostic start
    # /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig

    Option “E” to start monitoring
